A bus of Thikana Paribahan caught fire near a hospital in the capital’s Kadamtali area. No casualties have been reported so far.
Rafi Al Faruk, duty officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters, confirmed the incident around 1:45am on Sunday.
He said the fire broke out at 1:03am near Matuail Mother and Child Hospital, and firefighters began work to control the blaze. The fire was brought under control at 1:25am.
Kadamtali Police Station sub‑inspector Arif Hossain said the Thikana Paribahan bus was parked on the main road beside Shanto Filling Station.
The driver was asleep inside but escaped unharmed. Fire Service teams were alerted and brought the blaze under control.
