The Paltan Model Police Station has recovered 61 mobile phones lost at various times and returned them to their rightful owners, a police press release said on Thursday.
The handover took place on Tuesday in the conference room of Paltan Model Police Station, with Motijheel Zone’s Assistant Police Commissioner Hussain Muhammad Farabi and the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the station present, the release added.
Police sources said the phones were recovered from different locations between 1 May and 9 June, following complaints filed by victims through general diaries (GDs) and using information technology-assisted tracking.
The station noted that over the past year, more than 750 lost mobile phones have been retrieved and returned to their owners.
Recipients expressed gratitude to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) for their efforts. The DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division said similar recovery operations will continue in the future.
