Special Response Battalion-3 (SRB-3) has intensified security measures, including round-the-clock checkpoints, searches, patrols and intelligence surveillance, to prevent sabotage, criminal activity and disorder and maintain the overall law-and-order situation.
Security has been strengthened particularly in crowded areas, around key installations and key point installations and along major roads, SRB-3 said in a press release.
The battalion said it had increased robust patrols and motorcycle patrols alongside checkpoint and search operations to prevent any untoward incidents.
Special operations are also under way to recover illegal weapons and drugs, prevent theft and mugging and deter acts of sabotage.
SRB-3 members are searching suspicious individuals and vehicles as part of the operations. Personnel on duty have been instructed to ensure that the measures do not disrupt the movement of the public.
Alongside increased patrols and checkpoints, intelligence surveillance has also been stepped up. SRB-3 field surveillance members are maintaining intelligence monitoring of criminal groups, according to the release.
The Special Response Battalion said it continued to work against terrorism and organised crime, illegal weapons, ammunition and explosives, cybercrime, enforced disappearances, land grabbing, violence against women and children, rape, human trafficking and kidnapping.
SRB-3 said its operations against criminals would continue to maintain law and order and ensure public safety.
