Heavy rain, accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms since early morning, lashed Dhaka, inundating roads in Shukrabad, Rajarbagh and several other parts of the city.
The downpour brought traffic to a standstill in parts of the capital, forcing commuters and residents to endure long delays and widespread hardship.
