A total of 42,710 litres of fuel were seized during nationwide operations aimed at curbing illegal hoarding and ensuring a steady supply of fuel, the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources reported on Sunday.
The crackdown, conducted through 333 mobile court drives across the country over the past 24 hours, resulted in the confiscation of 41,700 litres of diesel and 1,010 litres of petrol.
In addition to the fuel seizures, 107 cases were filed against violators, and two individuals were sentenced to 14 days in prison.
The drives also collected fines totalling Tk4,34,650.
Officials from the Energy and Mineral Resources Division emphasised that these operations will continue to prevent fuel irregularities and maintain an uninterrupted supply for consumers nationwide.
