Nasir Uddin Khan, best known for his breakout turn in the web series ‘Myself Allen Swapan’, has been cast in a major role in Shakib Khan’s forthcoming Eid release ‘Prince: Once Upon A Time in Dhaka’, producer Shirin Sultana has confirmed.
Directed by Abu Hayat Mahmud and produced by Creative Land Films, Prince is being framed as a large-scale action film that has undergone extensive preparation, with principal photography set to begin on December 15. The first-look images and poster will be unveiled on the first day of shooting.
Mahmud has dismissed early rumours suggesting Prince was based on 1990s underworld figure Kala Jahangir as “pure gossip”. He has rather insisted the story is entirely fictional.
The cast also includes Tasnia Farin and Kolkata actress Jyotirmoyee Kundu, with another lead yet to be announced. Bollywood cinematographer Amit Roy has joined the crew, underscoring the film’s technical ambitions.
With a star-led action narrative and a mix of Bangladeshi and Kolkata talent, Prince is already shaping up to be one of the year’s most anticipated local releases.
