Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB) and Jiban Bima Corporation have signed an agreement in Dhaka to introduce an integrated API-driven cash management ecosystem for premium collection and payables management, according to a press release said. The deal was signed at a ceremony held at Six Seasons Hotel in Gulshan-2 on 6 July 2026.
Under the agreement, Jiban Bima Corporation will use MTB’s API-driven cash management services for nationwide insurance premium collection, alongside digital payment solutions through MTB eBank for managing payments and online collections via Direct Debit Instruction (DDI), the bank said.
The system will also enable transaction approvals through biometric authentication using the MTB eBank app, which the bank described as the first of its kind in the local banking industry.
The agreement was signed by Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Managing Director and CEO of MTB, and Md Sayed Kutub, Managing Director (Additional Secretary) of Jiban Bima Corporation.
Senior officials present included Chowdhury Akhtar Asif, Additional Managing Director and Chief Business Officer; Mohammad Mamun Faruk, Deputy Managing Director, Wholesale Banking Division; Md Shafquat Hossain, Deputy Managing Director, Retail Banking Division; A K M Tareq, Deputy Managing Director, Branch Banking Division; and Md Ashik Iqbal Khan, Divisional Head of Cash Management and Transaction Banking from MTB.
From Jiban Bima Corporation, attendees included Mohammad Abu Kawsar Jalil, General Manager, Finance and Accounts Division; Abu Naim Mohammad Maruf Khan, General Manager, ICT and Administration Division; and H M Rokib Hayder, General Manager, EE Division, along with other senior officials from both organisations.
