Community Bank Bangladesh PLC celebrated its seventh establishment anniversary with a focus on technology-driven, customer-centric and sustainable banking, reaffirming its commitment to responsible growth and strengthening people’s trust.
The anniversary celebration was held on Saturday evening at Hotel InterContinental Dhaka under the theme “Transform, Growth & Sustainability”, bringing together government officials, regulators, shareholders, corporate clients, stakeholders and senior officials of the bank. Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed attended the event as the chief guest.
In his welcome address, Managing Director of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC Mohammed Emtiaz Uddin said the anniversary theme represented a strategic commitment that would guide the bank’s future direction.
“Transform, Growth & Sustainability is not merely the theme of our 7th anniversary; it is a strategic commitment that will guide Community Bank in the years ahead,” he said.
He said transformation at the bank would extend beyond technology and include changes in mindset, work processes, service culture and customer relationships. Growth, he added, would focus not only on expanding business but also on enhancing capabilities, creating opportunities for customers and contributing to the national economy.
Salahuddin congratulated the bank on its seventh anniversary and stressed the need to expand access to financial services while improving efficiency and service quality in the banking sector.
He said banks must earn public trust and uphold it responsibly through stronger customer service. He also called for more meaningful corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives focused on education, healthcare, environment, humanitarian support and social development.
Md Ali Hossain Fakir, BPM, Inspector General of Police and chairman of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC, said the trust of shareholders, guidance from Bangladesh Bank and regulatory authorities, and cooperation from customers and stakeholders had contributed to the bank’s journey.

Fakir said Community Bank needed to become more efficient, innovative and people-focused by adapting to technological advances, digital services, changing customer expectations and evolving economic conditions.
“We do not want to merely make a bank bigger; we want to build an institution that connects people’s trust, business opportunities and the progress of the country in one common thread,” he said.
Md Akram Hossain, BPM (Sheba), director of Community Bank and Additional Inspector General of Bangladesh Police (Finance), and Dr Md Morshed Hasan Khan, independent director of the bank, also addressed the event, highlighting good governance, responsible banking, financial discipline and customer service.
