The Special Response Battalion (SRB) and VAT Intelligence, operating under the National Board of Revenue (NBR), launched a joint raid on Fu-Wang Club and Bar in the city’s Tejgaon area on Saturday.

The operation began around 4pm at the club located in Tejgaon Industrial Area. The club and bar belonged to Sheikh Nur Islam, father-in-law of content creator Salman Muqtadir.

Last Thursday, law enforcement agencies conducted a joint raid on a warehouse named “Tos Bond Private Ltd” in South Gulshan in the capital over allegations of stockpiling duty-free liquor.

That drive was carried out jointly by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID), the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC), and the Special Response Battalion-1 (SRB-1).

During the operation, four warehouses – including two authorised ones – were sealed off on charges of storing duty-free alcohol in unauthorised facilities.

Additionally, DNC teams conducted simultaneous raids across several bars in the capital, including Ruchita, Blazer Klaus, and Koyla, on the night of 30 September.

At the time, DNC officials stated that necessary measures under the Narcotics Control Act would be taken after analysing the findings from the drive.

Following those operations, DNC officials added that regular drives at bars in the capital would continue, with legal action being taken against any identified irregularities. Law enforcement authorities launched Saturday’s operation surrounding Fu-Wang Club as part of these ongoing efforts.
