Three more suspected measles patients have died across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths from the disease to 1,087 since 15 March.
During the same period, 980 suspected and 84 confirmed measles cases were detected.
According to a Saturday bulletin issued by the Integrated Control Centre of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The data was collected between 8am on 25 September and 8am on 26 September.
According to the bulletin, a total of 1,86,813 suspected measles cases have been reported in the country from 15 March to 26 September. The number of confirmed cases during the period stood at 21,999.
Of the total suspected patients, 1,65,155 were admitted to hospitals, while 1,58,576 recovered and were discharged.
Among the three deaths reported in the last 24 hours, one each occurred in Dhaka, Chattogram and Khulna. The number of deaths among suspected measles patients has now reached 986, while 101 confirmed measles patients have died during the same period.
Dhaka recorded the highest number of new suspected measles cases in the last 24 hours with 394, followed by Chattogram with 242, Sylhet 131, Barishal 95, Mymensingh 62, Khulna 32, Rajshahi 15 and Rangpur nine.
Since 15 March, Dhaka has reported the highest number of suspected measles cases at 79,314.
Chattogram recorded 37,159 suspected cases, followed by Barishal 20,284, Sylhet 14,935, Khulna 12,277, Rajshahi 10,458, Mymensingh 9,156 and Rangpur 3,230.
