In a video message shared on May 6, Bangladeshi actress Moushumi wished film actor and her husband Omar Sani on his birthday, expressing affection and nostalgia despite being abroad.
Moushumi, who has been living in New York for nearly three years with her mother, said, “Happy birthday Sani. Many many wishes to you. I miss you. You are always a banyan tree in our life, in my life.”
Addressing him directly, expressed deep affection and extended warm wishes, reflecting on family bonds and personal connections.
Speaking in the message, Moushumi said, “We want you by our side all the time. I extend my love to the one who gave birth to you on this day. If she was not there, you would not have been born. Lots of love on your birthday. Love you, Sani.”
Omar Sani has previously spoken about the emotional void on his birthday, noting the absence of Moushumi over the past three years. He also reflected on the loss of his mother, saying the date carries personal grief for him.
Born on May 6, 1969, in Barisal, Omar Sani is considered one of the most popular actors of Dhaka cinema’s successful era. He began his film career with encouragement from his family and father, first working in ‘Sujan Bashi’ (1989) directed by Darashiko, although the project was later halted.
Despite early setbacks, he continued his career, later appearing in films such as ‘Chader Alo’, ‘Prem Protishodh’, ‘Mohot’, ‘Prem Geet’, ‘Coolie’, ‘Odhikar Chai’, ‘Baper Taka’, ‘Priyo Tumi’ among others, establishing himself as a leading Dhallywood actor.
