A Bangladeshi delegation led by US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T Christensen met US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau in Washington, DC to discuss strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting was held on Monday, according to a press release.
The delegation also included Seacom Group Director Sameer Haque.
During the discussion, both sides explored opportunities for joint investment and technical collaboration in sectors including liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), petrochemicals, agro-processing and large-scale manufacturing.
Amirul, also president of the Bangladesh Cement Manufacturers Association and the LPG Operators Association of Bangladesh, expressed optimism over the outcome of the meeting.
He said the engagement would help deepen longstanding bilateral relations and create new opportunities for investment and industrial cooperation between Bangladesh and the United States.
