Concord has formally handed over PKSF Bhaban 2 to Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), completing another institutional project that will support the organisation’s poverty reduction and employment generation activities across Bangladesh.
The handover ceremony was attended by Concord Group of Companies Chief Financial Officer Md Abdul Karim and PKSF Deputy Managing Director Md Hasan Khaled, alongside senior officials from both organisations, Concord said in a press release.
The newly completed building will provide space for PKSF to continue its operations and advance its development objectives.
Established by the Bangladesh government in 1990, PKSF works with disadvantaged communities, entrepreneurs and partner organisations nationwide to promote sustainable poverty reduction through employment generation.
The handover adds to Concord’s portfolio of institutional and nationally significant construction projects, spanning several decades of infrastructure development in Bangladesh.
The company began its journey by rebuilding war-damaged bridges and transport infrastructure in the early years following the country’s independence.
Among its landmark projects is the National Martyrs’ Memorial in Savar, which Concord completed in 1982.
The construction group also built the original passenger terminal and VVIP Terminal at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and carried out civil works for the airport’s newest Third Terminal.
Its portfolio includes the National Indoor Stadium in Mirpur and several major institutional buildings in Dhaka.
Concord constructed Bangladesh Shilpa Bank Bhaban, Jiban Bima Tower and Janata Bank Bhaban in Motijheel, buildings the company described as the first high-rise developments of their time.
The completion of PKSF Bhaban 2 further strengthens Concord’s record of delivering major public-sector and institutional projects.
The company said the handover represented more than the completion of another building, providing an opportunity to contribute to an institution working to improve livelihoods, support disadvantaged communities and advance development across Bangladesh.
