Louis Tomlinson has admitted that ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ One Direction’s 2011 breakout single, was his least favourite track to perform.
Speaking to fans during a Capital FM Q&A while promoting his new album ‘How Did I Get Here?’, the singer said, “I’m not sure there was a single time I performed What Makes You Beautiful and enjoyed it. It always felt like a bit of a challenge.”
Tomlinson, now 33, also revealed the unreleased One Direction track, ‘Where We Are’, he wishes fans could hear. Written for what became the band’s final or penultimate album, the song leaked during production and was ultimately dropped.
One Direction, comprising Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik, split in 2015. The members briefly reunited last year for Payne’s funeral.
Tomlinson and Malik have since filmed a three-part Netflix documentary, due next year, following the pair as they travel across the US. Produced by Campfire Studios and directed by Nicola Marsh, the series will explore how both singers have navigated loss, fatherhood and life after the band.
