Popular Tollywood actress Koel Mallick is set to take on a new challenge, making her debut in a television serial after more than two decades in the film industry.
A Bengali serial adapted from a South Korean series is currently in the works, with Koel set to play a key role. The title of the serial and the director’s name have yet to be announced.
It is reportedly being planned for Sony Aath, although the channel has not made any official announcement yet.
Koel, 44, is no stranger to television. She has appeared as a reality show judge several times and also hosted the talk show ‘Kotha O Kahini’. However, the upcoming project will mark her first appearance as an actor in a television serial.
The actress made her film debut in 2003 with ‘Nater Guru’. She went on to establish herself as one of Tollywood’s popular leading actresses with films including ‘Bandhan’, ‘Neel Akasher Chandni’, ‘Prem-er Kahini’, ‘Mon Mane Na’, ‘Saat Paake Bandha’, ‘Dui Prithibi’, ‘Paglu’ and ‘Hemlock Society’.
