Netflix is bringing back Kapil Sharma and his much-loved comedy gang with the fifth season of “The Great Indian Kapil Show”. The new season will premiere on 26 September, bringing a fresh dose of laughter to the festive season, writes The Indian Express.
Kapil Sharma will return alongside Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Archana Puran Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu.
The upcoming season will feature celebrity guests, newsmakers and quirky personalities, along with candid conversations, comedy sketches, playful roasting and plenty of unexpected banter.
The new season carries the theme “Hasi Ka Tyo-haha-har”, with the makers presenting it as a celebration of laughter.
After turning Shanivaar into “Funnyvaar” and building its audience as a “Parivaar”, the show aims to bring families together during the festive period.
Speaking about the return, Kapil Sharma said the team often feels each season has delivered enough fun, only to realise there is still more to explore.
“Every season, we think we have done enough masti (fun), and then we realise that we are not done yet! And somewhere I feel that’s what keeps us going,” he said.
Kapil thanked audiences around the world for their continued support and said the team would celebrate the upcoming festivities, including Diwali and Christmas, with the new season.
“Bas lifafe Archana ji se duur rakhiye, baki hum Hasi ka Tyohaar to le kar aa hi rahe hain!” he joked, asking viewers to keep gifts and envelopes away from Archana Puran Singh.
Tanya Bami, Series Head at Netflix, said the show has established itself as a family entertainer. She noted that its return after a six-month break had created anticipation among viewers.
According to Bami, the new season will feature “har type ka funny” and introduce fresh moments and surprises for the audience.
With its fifth season, “The Great Indian Kapil Show” is set to return with more celebrity interactions, comedy and festive entertainment, giving families another reason to come together for a few laughs.
