Singer Fariha Farahi has released her new original song Moyna Re. She wrote the lyrics, composed the tune and provided the vocals herself. Shobhan Roy arranged the music, while A1 Studio handled the mixing and mastering.
Mahtim Shakib directed the song’s video, with choreography by the Dhaka Dance Company. The song and video aim for a simple, lively and enjoyable presentation, keeping general listeners and viewers in mind.
Fariha said she plans to continue working regularly on songs written and composed by herself. Her interest in exploring unconventional work has encouraged her to develop new ideas. Although she has formal training in music, her interest in dance grew mainly through her own efforts and passion. She said she often enjoys dancing more than singing and feels she discovers another side of herself while dancing.
Fariha also has a different professional background. After completing 12 years of service in the Bangladesh Air Force, she now runs her own business. She also wants to make music an important part of her career.
Her musical journey has been influenced by her family. Her father was a government official who also worked as a music teacher at District Shilpokola Academy, Cumilla. He left behind several original songs.
Fariha plans to bring some of her father’s unreleased and older works to today’s listeners with new arrangements and presentations. She has released Moyna Re on her own YouTube channel.
