As Raihan Rafi’s much anticipated film ‘Noor’ is available to stream on Bioscope+ from today, Arifin Shuvoo has clarified that the project’s widely discussed intimate scene was shaped purely by artistic intent rather than sensationalism.

The scene, featuring Shuvo and co-star Jannatul Ferdous Oishee, circulated online ahead of the release and sparked renewed curiosity among audiences. Shuvo, however, emphasised that the moment was created to serve the narrative and his character’s emotional arc.

“Whatever was required for Noor, I followed the character,” he said, explaining that the scene emerged naturally during performance. “It is not really a kiss. It is a moment. I did not feel uncomfortable because at that time I was fully inside the character.”

Shuvoo added that he has no reservations about taking on intimate scenes when they carry narrative significance. “If the story demands it, I am ready to do what is necessary as an actor. It should not be done to create hype. There must be a genuine purpose.”

Asked about speculation regarding his off screen relationship with Oishee, he downplayed the chatter and redirected the focus to the work. “These things happen in showbiz. I do not give them importance. What matters is the film.”

With audience interest already heightened by the leaked clip, Noor now faces its real test as viewers assess how the performances and storytelling come together on screen. Shuvoo maintains that the attention should ultimately rest on the film itself rather than the noise surrounding it.
