Actor Hasan Masud has rejected any association with a photo currently being shared widely on Facebook, saying the image has left him feeling uncomfortable and misrepresented.
The photograph, which has surfaced across multiple Facebook groups, depicts the actor holding a placard carrying a politically sensitive message. While it appears to resemble campaign material, Hasan Masud said he had no knowledge of its origin and did not authorise or participate in its creation or circulation.
Addressing the issue on Monday, the actor said he suspects the image was produced using artificial intelligence. He said the situation was troubling, noting that digitally altered content can quickly convince viewers that public figures support positions they do not. He expressed concern about how rapidly such misleading material spreads online.
Hasan Masud reiterated that he keeps a clear distance from politics and avoids projects that could be interpreted as politically aligned. He confirmed that he recently declined an offer for a film with a political narrative, explaining that he prefers not to be linked to any political stance, either in favour of or against any group.
The actor also provided an update on his health, saying he is still receiving medical care following a serious illness last year. He explained that his recovery requires close monitoring and strict medication schedules, which prevent him from resuming full-time shooting commitments.
Although several acting proposals have come his way, Hasan Masud said he has not committed to any new film projects. At present, he is prioritising his recovery and limiting his professional work to selected advertising projets.
