The admission test for the ‘A’ unit under the General, Science and Technology (GST) cluster for the 2025–26 academic session was held at Islamic University (IU) on Friday.
The one-hour examination was conducted from 11:00am to 12pm across nine academic buildings on the campus.
A total of 11,186 candidates were scheduled to sit for the science faculty ‘A’ unit test at the IU centre.
The examination marked the final phase of the GST cluster admission process for the current academic session.
Student organisations set up help desks at the university’s main gate to assist candidates and their guardians, continuing the usual practice.
The university authorities deployed a four-tier security system to ensure smooth conduct of the test.
Members of Police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Ansar, Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) and Rover Scouts were present on the campus.
Islamic University Proctor Professor Shahinuzzaman said all necessary security arrangements were in place and the examination was expected to be completed in an orderly environment.
According to official data, 2,84,480 students applied for the GST admission tests this year.
Of them, 1,66,240 applied for the ‘A’ unit, 93,158 for the ‘B’ unit, and 25,282 for the ‘C’ unit.
The ‘C’ unit examination was held at the IU centre on 27 March with an attendance rate of 88.53 per cent, while the ‘B’ unit test took place on April 3 with a turnout of 86.45 percent.
