Grameenphone (GP) has partnered with bKash to disburse incentives directly to its nationwide distributor field force, aiming to simplify financial management, improve transparency, and ensure secure payments, the companies said in a press release. Field staff will receive funds instantly in their bKash accounts and can use the money at their convenience.
The agreement was signed at GP House in Dhaka with senior leadership from both organisations in attendance. From Grameenphone, Farha Naz Zaman, Chief Marketing Officer; Solaiman Alam, Chief Product Officer; Mohammad Shareef Mahmood Khan, HoD Sales & Distribution; and Sk Iftekhar Ahmed, Head of Distribution, were present. Representing bKash were Ali Ahmmed, Chief Commercial Officer; Masrur Chowdhury, Head of Business Sales; and Shafayatul Islam Khan, EVP & HoD, Telecom Payments.
Under the deal, Grameenphone will use bKash’s Disbursement Solution to send incentives directly to its field staff accounts, providing a fast, secure, and efficient payment process while reducing operational complexity, the press release said. Recipients can withdraw cash from bKash agent points or ATMs nationwide.
The bKash accounts also allow users to access a variety of services, including Send Money, Mobile Recharge, Merchant Payments, Add Money, Utility Bill Payment, educational and government fees, e-Ticketing, Donations, Remittance, Insurance, Microfinance, Loans, Savings, and more, according to the companies.
The partnership marks a significant step in digitising Grameenphone’s field-level financial operations, enabling real-time payment tracking and greater convenience for its nationwide sales and distribution team.
