Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC Bangladesh Operations is supporting CARITAS in providing a safe, nurturing and inclusive daycare environment for children from vulnerable and low-income families.
The initiative supports children of garment sector employees, small factory workers and daily wage earners by providing foundational learning materials, educational tools, caregiving facilities and nutritional support.
By creating a safe and engaging environment for children, the programme also enables working parents to pursue their livelihoods with greater peace of mind.
CBC formally handed over its Education CSR contribution to CARITAS at a programme held at the bank’s head office recently, attended by senior representatives from both organisations. The cheque was handed over by Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC CEO Tivanka Damunupola to Caritas Executive Director Daud Jibon Das.
The initiative reflects CBC’s stated commitment to promoting education equity, child wellbeing, community empowerment and greater financial resilience among vulnerable families, said a press release on Saturday.
