Grameenphone (GP) has entered into a 10-year strategic partnership with Bangladesh Police to provide dedicated connectivity and digital services.
The agreement covers Bangladesh Police’s official mobile number series (01320000000–01320299999) along with associated connectivity services for its official and solutions-based numbers.
It also includes connectivity and related support for key digital platforms, including Online GD and the Crime Data Management System (CDMS), said a press release on Thursday.
The agreement was signed recently at Bangladesh Police Headquarters in Dhaka by Bangladesh Police Additional DIG (Headquarters) Mohammad Sharif Uddin and GP Head of Law Enforcement Agencies Business Helal Uddin Ahmed.
Bangladesh Police Inspector General of Police Md Ali Hossain Fakir and GP CEO Yasir Azman were present.
GP Chief Business Officer Asif Naimur Rashid, GP Chief Human Resources Officer Sayeda Tahya Hossain and senior officials from Bangladesh Police and GP attended the signing ceremony.
Md Ali Hossain Fakir said, “Bangladesh Police is committed to serving the people, maintaining law and order, and contributing to the safety and wellbeing of communities across the country. As our ways of working and serving people continue to evolve, reliable connectivity and technology are becoming increasingly important. Our partnership with Grameenphone will help support our communication and digital service requirements.”
Yasir Azman said, “Through this partnership, we aim to support Bangladesh Police with strong and reliable connectivity and relevant digital capabilities as their requirements evolve. The partnership also creates opportunities to explore how emerging technologies can enable more connected and efficient operations in the future.”
