Renowned filmmaker FI Manik, known for delivering several commercially successful Dhallywood hits, has recently undergone hernia surgery. He had been suffering from the condition for a long time before being admitted to a hospital in Moghbazar, Dhaka.
The surgery took place on the night of October 4 and lasted for about four hours. After the operation, Manik was shifted to a cabin for recovery. While his immediate family members were initially not present, several members of the film fraternity later came forward to stand by him. His three sisters and other relatives, however, were present during the surgery.
Manik had been admitted to the hospital on October 2 following severe abdominal pain. After medical tests and consultations, doctors decided that emergency surgery was necessary.
FI Manik is best known for producing and directing a string of box-office successes, including ‘Swapner Bashor’, ‘Phool Nebo Na Ashru Nebo’, ‘Koti Takar Kabin’, ‘Chacchu’ and ‘Amar Praner Priya’.
