NRB Bank PLC Independent Director Ferdous Ara Begum has been elected president of the Executive Council of the Bangladesh Senior Citizens Forum for the 2026–27 term.
Ferdous Ara Begum previously served as Additional Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh, Director General of Bangladesh Television and a member of the UN CEDAW Committee.
She is also recognised as a gender, women’s rights and women’s empowerment expert in Bangladesh.
Her appointment places a senior banking figure in a leadership role within a national platform focused on senior citizens, reflecting her continued engagement in public policy and social development.
