Bangladesh chess star Mohammad Fahad Rahman kept up his fine form with a major win in Istanbul on Monday.
The International Master beat Georgian Grandmaster Giga Quparadze in the fifth round of the FUBY Academy Norm Chess Tournament Series 3 in Turkey.
Fahad played with the white pieces and took control against Quparadze’s Sicilian Defense. He secured the victory after only 32 moves.
With this result, Fahad moved to 4.5 points after five rounds and stayed alone at the top of the table.
Fahad is Bangladesh’s top ranked chess player and one of the country’s biggest names in the sport. He has won the Asian Zonal Championship twice and has qualified for the Chess World Cup three times.
His latest victory once again showed his class on the international stage as he continues to carry Bangladesh’s hopes in global chess.
