The university plans to integrate AI across curriculum, academic, and administrative functions in phases to strengthen competitiveness and modernise its education system.
The initiative reflects faculty capacity in delivering University Grants Commission projects and demonstrates transparency in the use of public funds under a World Bank-supported programme, he added.
The lab is expected to support policy formulation and implementation in engineering and technology education using AI tools, said DUET Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Md Arefin Kowser.
The event was also attended by Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Dean Professor Ruma, Faculty of Civil Engineering Dean Professor Md Nazim Uddin, Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering Head Professor Hasan Mohammad Mostafa Afroz, Institute of Energy Engineering Director Professor ANM Mominul Islam Mukut, and Textile Engineering Professor Md Abdus Sahid.
