Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Md Shafiqul Islam Khan has urged sanitation workers to perform their duties with utmost responsibility, vowing rewards for sincere efforts and action against negligence in keeping the capital clean and mosquito-free.
The administrator made the remarks while addressing an Iftar and prayer gathering organised by DNCC in honour of sanitation workers in Mirpur on Thursday.
“From today, we will take an oath – to properly fulfill whatever responsibility each of us holds,” Khan told the workers.
He stated that the Iftar event was arranged to honor those who work tirelessly from dawn to keep the city clean and control mosquitoes.
“Those who perform their duties with dedication will be rewarded. Simultaneously, necessary action will be taken against those who are negligent in performing their duties,” the administrator warned.
Khan emphasised working collectively to build a clean, green, and livable city for residents, fulfilling the pledge of gifting citizens a clean and green city.
The event was attended by DNCC officials, employees, and a large number of sanitation workers.
