Dense fog suddenly appeared in Chuadanga, a south-western district of Bangladesh, on Friday morning, bringing a change in weather after a prolonged spell of hot conditions.

The early morning landscape took on a different look, while dew drops on grass blades signalled the arrival of winter.

The foggy scene was witnessed across the district around 6am on Friday. Due to poor visibility, vehicles were seen moving on roads with headlights switched on.

As sunlight appeared later in the morning, the fog gradually started to clear.

Although daytime weather remains hot with sunshine or occasional rain, locals said a mild chill is now being felt after sunset, particularly after midnight.

Residents said dense fog usually appears during late September nights and early mornings, but this year it arrived earlier, in the middle of the month.

The sudden appearance of thick morning fog has led many locals to believe that winter may arrive earlier than usual.
