State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock and Member of Parliament for Tangail-5 (Sadar) Sultan Salauddin Tuku has said that the previous fascist government took the education system to the brink of destruction.
He added that the current government is actively working to make the education system dynamic.
The state minister made these remarks while addressing as the chief guest at a reception ceremony organised at his personal initiative for meritorious students who obtained GPA-5 in the 2026 SSC and equivalent examinations.
The programme took place at 11am on Friday at Bindubasini Government Boys’ High School in Tangail town.
Tuku stressed that achieving good results alone is not enough, highlighting that students must build themselves into worthy citizens through a combination of knowledge, skills, human values, and patriotism.
He said that today’s meritorious students will lead the country and society in the future. He further remarked that organising such receptions will encourage students in their studies and play an important role in bringing them back to classrooms.
During the event, Tuku handed over crests, greeting mementos, and educational materials to 850 GPA-5 recipient students in Tangail.
The ceremony was attended by District Superintendent of Police Md Shamsul Alam Sarkar, Additional Superintendent of Police HM Mahbub Rezwan Siddiqui, officials from various government departments, teachers, guardians, local dignitaries, and GPA-5 recipient students from different educational institutions.
