Bangladesh reported two more dengue-related deaths in the last 24 hours till 8am on Tuesday, as the country continues to face a growing wave of infections.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the latest fatalities have pushed this year’s death toll from the mosquito-borne disease to 217. The two deaths were recorded under the Dhaka South and Dhaka North City Corporations, it also said.
During the same period, 715 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country, raising the total number of reported cases in 2025 to 51,404.
Of the patients currently receiving medical care, 859 are being treated in hospitals in Dhaka, while another 2,520 are undergoing treatment in other districts.
The DGHS report further noted that 60.9% of those infected are men, and 39.1% are women. In comparison, 575 dengue-related deaths were recorded last year, with 101,214 total cases and 100,040 recoveries reported nationwide during the same period.
