Six officers of Bangladesh Police holding the rank of additional inspector general of police (IGP) and five at deputy inspector general (DIG) level have been transferred and reassigned.
Among them, four have been promoted to additional IGP.
The Home Ministry announced the changes through separate gazette notifications on Thursday.
According to the notifications, Sayedur Rahman, Mainul Hasan, Iqbal Hossain and Kamrul Ahsan were promoted to Additional IGP and given new postings. The reshuffle also included changes to the chiefs of the Special Branch (SB) and SB in Dhaka city.
Police Headquarters DIG Md Rezaul Karim has been posted as DIG of Khulna Range. Khulna Range DIG Md Mostafizur Rahman has been transferred to Dhaka Range as DIG.
Anti‑Terrorism Unit DIG Mohammad Muslim has been appointed Director (DIG) of Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital. Special Branch DIG Mir Ashraf Ali has been made DIG of Railway Police.
Mass Rapid Transit (Metro Rail) DIG Siddiqi Tanjilur Rahman has been transferred as DIG of Dhaka Special Branch (SB).
The notifications, issued by the Police‑1 wing of the ministry and signed by Deputy Secretary Touhif Ahmed on the President’s order, take immediate effect.
