The long-awaited release date for ‘Delupi’ has finally been confirmed. Directed by Mohammad Tauqir Islam, the film will first hit cinemas in Khulna on November 7, before releasing across the rest of the country on November 14.
The production house made the announcement on social media on October 28, writing in a lively caption: “On 7 November, Delupi is coming to Khulna! The rest of the country will get to watch it next week, on the 14th. Buy your tickets, brothers and sisters. Delupi is full of emotion, full of excitement!”
Explaining the decision to release the film in Khulna ahead of the nationwide launch, director Tauqir said, “We wanted the people from the region where the story is set to experience the film first. Alongside cinema halls in Khulna, we also plan to screen the film in several unions and villages to make it accessible to local audiences. Now we’re eagerly waiting for the film to reach them.”
The film’s teasers and one of its songs have already been well received online, with the official trailer expected to be released soon.
The title Delupi is inspired by Deluti Union in Paikgachha Upazila, Khulna.
Rooted in the lives, struggles and relationships of the people from that area, the story has been crafted as a blend of fiction and realism; one that resonates not only with Khulna’s residents but with audiences across the country.
