A complaint has been filed at a police station under the Anti‑Terrorism Act against four persons, including journalist Anis Alamgir and actor Meher Afroz Shaon. The complaint has not yet been registered as a case.
Kazi Mohammad Rafique Ahmed, officer‑in‑charge of Uttara West Police Station, confirmed the information.
Arian Ahmed, a central organiser of the July Revolutionary Alliance, lodged the complaint after 2am on Monday at Uttara West Police Station in Dhaka.
The two others named in the complaint are model Maria Kispotta and Imtu Ratish Imtiaz, Further steps will be taken after consulting with senior officials, the OC said.
Anis Alamgir was taken to the Detective Branch (DB) office for questioning on Sunday evening from a gym in Dhanmondi.
On Sunday night, DB chief Md Shafiqul Islam said, “Alamgir has been taken to the DB office for questioning, and a decision regarding him will be made after the interrogation.”
Anis Alamgir has worked with various media outlets, including Ajker Kagoj. Recently, he had been in the news for his remarks on television talk shows.
