Shahin Chowdhury of Daily Tripura Express and Masum Billah of Daily Jugasankha have been elected president and general secretary, respectively, of the Indian Media Correspondents Association, Bangladesh (IMCAB).
The new executive committee was elected unopposed on Friday for the 2026–2027 term, according to a press release.
Razib Khan of TV9 was elected vice-president, while Mir Afroz Zaman of United News of India (UNI) was elected joint general secretary.
Abu Ali of Amar Asam was elected treasurer and Aminul Haque Bhuiyan of News Vanguard organising secretary.
The executive members of the new committee are Basudeb Dhar of Daily Statesman, Rafiqul Islam Sabuj of Daily Desher Katha, Nirmal Chakraborty of Face News, Zakir Hossain of Daily Sayandan and Monir Hossain of Tripura Times.
The newly elected committee is expected to work towards strengthening professional cooperation among Indian media correspondents working in Bangladesh and further expanding the activities of the association.
