Four more children died from measles and measles-like symptoms across Bangladesh in the 24 hours to 8am on Saturday, while 917 children were reported infected during the period.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the figures in its latest measles update issued on Saturday afternoon, 5 September.
According to the report, three children died after developing measles-like symptoms during the 24-hour period, while another child died after being confirmed as having measles.
The latest figures bring the total number of deaths linked to measles-like symptoms since 15 March to 891.
A further 100 children have died after being confirmed as having measles during the same period, taking the combined death toll from measles and measles-like symptoms to 991.
The DGHS reported 74 new confirmed measles cases in the past 24 hours, while 843 children were diagnosed with measles-like symptoms.
During the period, 761 children were admitted to hospitals, while 571 patients were discharged.
According to DGHS data, a total of 163,105 suspected measles cases have been reported across the country since March 15.
The number of confirmed measles cases during the same period stands at 19,641.
Of the total patients, 143,214 have been admitted to hospitals, while 137,921 have since been discharged and returned home.
