Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Customs House Md Aminul Islam confirmed the recovery, adding that authorities are investigating how the gold was brought onto the aircraft and whether others were involved.

Officials said legal action will be taken under existing laws, and inquiries may also examine whether an organised smuggling network is linked to the incident.

The seizure has prompted heightened vigilance among Biman departments and other agencies at the airport.
