Prime Bank on Tuesday introduced a financial literacy initiative using puppet shows to teach children money-management lessons through storytelling, entertainment and age-appropriate learning.
The initiative was inaugurated at Marina Yasmin Chowdhury Hall of Aspiration, Prime Tower, in Khilkhet, Dhaka, marking International Literacy Day 2026, said a press release.
Bangladesh Bank Financial Inclusion Department Director Iqbal Mohasin attended as chief guest and inaugurated the programme.
He said financial inclusion is a responsibility to make the economy more inclusive. “On International Literacy Day, Prime Bank has taken an exemplary initiative by introducing financial literacy through puppet shows. Such innovative approaches can strengthen our collective efforts to equip the next generation with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed financial decisions.”
The puppet show uses relatable characters and simple stories to introduce children to concepts such as saving, responsible spending, money management and banking. The shows will be broadcast on Prime Bank’s official social media platforms at 5:00 pm on the second and fourth Saturday of every month.
Prime Bank Additional Managing Director Nazeem A Chowdhury said financial literacy is an essential foundation for meaningful financial inclusion. “By helping children understand saving, responsible spending and money management from an early age, we can support the development of a financially aware generation.”
Financial Inclusion and School Banking Head MM Mahbub Hasan delivered the inaugural speech. Liability and Women Banking Head Shaila Abedin and Brand and Communications Head Nabila Khalid also spoke.
Bangladesh Bank Additional Director Debashis Roy, Light of Hope Chairman Waliullah Bhuiyan and ToguMogu CEO Nazmul Arefin Momel were present.
