Prime Bank PLC will offer refinance facilities to export-oriented clients after joining Bangladesh Bank’s (BB) Tk 3,000 crore Export Diversification Refinance Scheme as a Participating Financial Institution (PFI).

The bank has recently signed a Participation Agreement with BB, enabling it to support industries in priority and special development sectors under the Export Policy 2024-2027.

The agreement was signed by Prime Bank Chief Executive Officer Faisal Rahman and BB Sustainable Finance Department Director AKM Nurunnobi, said a press release on Thursday.

Under the scheme, Prime Bank is eligible to avail refinance facilities to support export-oriented industries in priority and special development sectors. The scheme aims to encourage exporters to diversify products and explore new international markets, enhancing competitiveness and strengthening Bangladesh’s export base beyond traditional sectors.

The participation reinforces Prime Bank’s efforts to expand sustainable and priority-sector financing for Bangladeshi businesses. It also strengthens its collaboration with Bangladesh Bank in advancing export diversification and supporting the export sector’s long-term growth.
