Community Bank Bangladesh PLC has joined Bangladesh Bank’s Tk 2,000 crore Pre-Finance Fund to expand financing for the country’s export-oriented frozen food sector.
The bank signed a participation agreement with Bangladesh Bank at a ceremony organised by the central bank’s Agricultural Credit Department-2 (ACD-2), according to a press release issued on 2 November.
Community Bank Chief Operating Officer Shamsul Haque Sufyani and SME and Agriculture Division Assistant Vice-President Sharif Hasan Mamun represented the bank at the signing.
The fund is intended to improve entrepreneurs’ access to finance for investment in production and processing capacity, as well as to support the expansion of export activities.
Greater access to financing is expected to help businesses strengthen their export capacity, increase foreign exchange earnings and create new investment opportunities in the frozen food sector.
Community Bank said its participation reflects its commitment to supporting promising entrepreneurs and contributing to export growth.
