Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen meets Tarique Rahman

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at his office in Secretariat on Monday.

PM’s Adviser Humayun Kabir said, the ambassador conveyed greetings from the Chinese President Xi Jinping to Tarique. He added that Tarique has been invited to visit China on behalf of the Chinese president.

China has welcomed PM’s “Bangladesh First” foreign policy. Ambassador Yao Wen also assured that all types of cooperation will continue to protect the sovereignty of Bangladesh.

Earlier on Sunday, following a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman and State Minister Shama Obaed, Ambassador Yao Wen remarked that China will not tolerate any third-party interference in its relations with South Asian countries, including Bangladesh.

During that meeting, discussions also focused on Bangladesh-China relations and the Rohingya crisis.
