Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus has expressed heartfelt grief over the tragic deaths of four people, including three firefighters, in Tongi chemical warehouse devastating fire.
In a condolence message, he said, “While performing their noble duty of saving lives, three of our brave firefighters, along with another individual, lost their lives in this accident. It is a heartbreaking incident. I pray for the eternal peace of the departed souls and extend my deepest sympathy to the bereaved families.”
He further said, “Members of the fire service risk their lives, day and night, to protect lives and property. Sacrificing their own safety, they rush forward. The nation is forever indebted to their sacrifice.
“The tragedy is a stark reminder of the immense risks they bear while on duty. Their noble sacrifice will be remembered in the nation’s history forever.”
“In this accident, we have not only lost a few lives but also witnessed an extraordinary example of courage, humanity, and devotion to duty. The fire service is one of the most reliable and courageous forces in the country.
“In times of crisis, they are the first to rush in to stand by the people. Today, while carrying out that noble responsibility, they had to lose their lives. This is a matter of profound grief for the entire nation”, Chief Adviser added.
Offering solace to the bereaved families, he said, “Your loved ones did not merely lose their lives, they sacrificed themselves for the nation. Every citizen of this country will remember their sacrifice with deep respect. I feel your grief and pray that Almighty grants your patience and strength in this difficult time.”
Praying for the salvation of the departed souls, he added, “This tragic loss can never be replaced. But their sacrifice will continue to inspire us to build a safer Bangladesh.”
