Md Mostafizur Rahman has officially assumed charge as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Dhaka Range, moving from his previous role in Khulna.
He officially took over charge on Friday afternoon from Additional IGP Md Iqbal Hossain, who was serving as the DIG of Dhaka Range.
Earlier on Thursday, a notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs posted Khulna Range DIG Md Mostafizur Rahman as the new DIG of Dhaka Range. His home is in Ishwardi upazila, Pabna district.
When Mostafizur Rahman, an officer of the 20th batch, arrived at the range office, he was welcomed with flowers by Additional DIG (Administration and Finance) M A Jalil.
Also present on the occasion were Additional DIG (Crime Management) Md Sayfuzzaman Faruki, Additional DIG (Operations) Md Siddikur Rahman, alongside senior officials of the range office and civil staff.
Later, the newly appointed Mostafizur Rahman presented flowers to greet the outgoing Dhaka Range DIG Iqbal Hossain.
Iqbal Hossain was promoted to the rank of Additional IGP on 23 August. On Thursday, he was posted to Police Headquarters.
On the same day, Mostafizur Rahman was transferred from his post as Khulna Range DIG and appointed as DIG of Dhaka Range.
