Seventeen officers working in various units of the Bangladesh Police have been transferred and posted. The Police-1 branch of the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued these orders through three separate notifications on Tuesday.
Signed by Deputy Secretary Touhid Ahmed by order of the President, the notifications stated that these orders, issued in the public interest, will take effect immediately.
The administrative reshuffle includes officers of the ranks of deputy inspector general (DIG), additional DIG, superintendent of police (SP), deputy commissioner of police (DCP), and additional SP.
DIG rank postings
Md Humayun Kabir, holding the rank of DIG, has been posted as the Additional Director General (DIG) of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB). Meanwhile, Md Mahbubur Rashid has been appointed as the Police Commissioner (DIG) of the Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RPMP).
Additional DIG rank postings
Md Humayun Kabir has been transferred from his post as Additional DIG (Supernumerary DIG) at the Police Staff College to the same post in the Police Headquarters.
Md Tofayel Ahmed Miah, the Additional DIG of the Railway Police, has been posted as the Joint Commissioner of Police for the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
Mohammad Nazmul Alam, SP (Supernumerary Additional DIG) of the Armed Police Battalion (APBn), has been appointed as the DCP (Supernumerary Additional DIG) of the DMP.
Additionally, Md Jafar Hossain, SP (Supernumerary Additional DIG) of the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in the same role.
SP and DCP rank postings
Among the SP and DCP rank officers, DMP DCP Md Aslam Uddin has been appointed as SP at the Police Headquarters.
Md Shahadat Hossain, SP of the APBn, has been transferred to the PBI as SP. MKH Jahangir Hossain, Special SP of the Special Branch (SB), has also been posted as SP in the PBI.
Md Abdur Rahman, DCP of the RPMP, has been transferred as SP of the PBI.
Md Abul Kalam Azad, SP of the PBI, has been made Commandant (SP) of the In-Service Training Centre in Gazipur.
SM Sirajul Huda, Commandant of Gazipur, has been transferred to the In-Service Training Centre in Jhenaidah as Commandant. Mohammad Khaled-uz-Zaman, SP of the PBI, has been posted as SP of the CID.
SM Rafiqul Islam, SP of the PBI, has been transferred as SP of the APBn. Meanwhile, Sylhet DCP Md Reazul Kabir has been attached as SP to the office of the Rangpur Range DIG.
Additional SP rank postings
At the Additional SP rank, Md Rezaul Karim of the SB has been attached to the APBn and Specialised Training Centre in Khagrachhari.
Mohammad Nurul Amin has been transferred from Noakhali to the same facility (APBn and Specialised Training Centre, Khagrachhari) as Additional SP (Supernumerary SP).
Previous Transfer Orders Cancelled The notifications also revoked previous transfer orders for two senior officers.
The transfer order of DMP Joint Commissioner of Police Mohammad Kamruzzaman to the post of Additional DIG (Police Headquarters), which was issued in a notification dated 11 December 2025, has been cancelled.
Additionally, the transfer order of DMP DCP Mallik Ahsan Uddin Sami to the post of SP of Narail, issued in a notification dated 5 May 2026, has also been cancelled.
