Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) observed July Mass Uprising Day 2026 on Thursday with due dignity and solemnity through a series of commemorative programmes.
To mark the occasion, the university organised essay, poetry and painting competitions, a discussion session, a remembrance programme, a special prayer and a ceremony to honour the family members of the martyred students, reads a press release.
BUP held a discussion session, tribute and remembrance programme at its Bijoy Auditorium.
During the event, tribute was paid to the martyrs of the July Mass Uprising, their sacrifices were remembered, and the significance of the uprising in the national history of Bangladesh was highlighted.
The family members of BUP student martyr Mir Mahfuzur Rahman Mugdha and martyr Zobayer Omar Khan attended the programme as special guests.
BUP Vice Chancellor Major General Md Mahbub-ul Alam attended the event as the chief guest.
In his address, he reaffirmed BUP’s commitment to fostering patriotism, democratic values, critical thinking and awareness of the nation’s history among its students.
Military and civilian officials of BUP, faculty members from different faculties and students also attended the programme.
