Six people have died from measles across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, while 85 new confirmed cases and 733 suspected cases were detected during the period.
The figures were disclosed in a regular press release issued by the Integrated Control Centre of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday.
According to the report, the period between 8am on 5 August and 8am on 6 August also saw 645 new hospital admissions and 582 patients discharged after recovery.
Of the six deaths recorded in the 24-hour period, four occurred in Dhaka division and two in Sylhet division.
Division-wise, 39 confirmed measles cases were detected in Dhaka, 21 in Sylhet, 10 in Chattogram, eight in Barishal and seven in Rajshahi during the period.
Since 15 March to 6 August 2026, a total of 1,33,638 suspected measles cases have been reported across the country, with 16,740 confirmed infections.
During the period, 764 people died from suspected measles-related complications, while 96 deaths were confirmed through laboratory tests.
So far, 1,15,879 patients have been admitted to hospitals for treatment, and 1,11,587 have recovered and returned home, according to the DGHS data.
