A Dhaka University (DU) student was injured after reportedly jumping from the ninth floor of Santosh Bhaban at Jagannath Hall early Monday.
The incident occurred around 1am. The injured student was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment, DU Proctor Israfil Prang said.
According to university sources, the student is enrolled in the Department of Development Studies and hails from Khulna district.
Jagannath Hall Provost Debashish Pal said, “The student is doing well. Doctors said he did not suffer any major complications as he landed on a tin-roofed structure rather than falling directly onto the ground.”
