Police have arrested Md Rafiqul Islam Rinku, president of the Itna Upazila unit of the banned organisation Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), in connection with an explosives case in Kishoreganj on Monday afternoon.
He was apprehended from the Itna Bazar area on 5 October.
According to police, a case under the Explosives Act was registered with Itna Police Station on 10 September 2024, and Rinku has been shown arrested in that case.
Confirming the arrest, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Itna Police Station Md Habibullah Khan stated that preparations were underway to send Rinku to court.
