Police have arrested two people in the capital’s Jatrabari area in connection with the murder of 15-year-old Ramzan, who was a member of a teen-gang.
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) disclosed the information in a press release issued on Tuesday.
With the latest arrests, the total number of people arrested in the case has risen to six.
The newly arrested individuals have been identified as Ahnaf Ahmed Nirob, 19, and Md Sifat, 19.
According to police, Ramzan was killed on 16 April in front of Mongal Bakery under Jatrabari Police Station over a dispute between teen gangs over establishing dominance. A murder case was later filed at Jatrabari Police Station.
During the investigation, police traced the suspects using intelligence and technological support.
A team from Jatrabari Police Station conducted raids in Jatrabari and the Siddhirganj Police Station area of Narayanganj on Tuesday.
The team arrested Nirob and Sifat during the raids.
Police said both of them confessed during initial interrogation to their direct involvement in the murder.
Further legal action against them is currently under process.
