The Supreme Court administration has made it mandatory for all concerned to carry identity cards when entering the Supreme Court premises between 11pm and 6am to prevent the entry of “unexpected persons” at night.
Although a notification in this regard was issued on Tuesday, the details of it became known on Wednesday.
According to the notification, the Supreme Court is the highest arena of the country’s judiciary and an important facility.
The Chief Justice and judges of the Appellate Division and High Court Division conduct judicial proceedings in the courtrooms across various Supreme Court buildings.
Consequently, ensuring the security of judges, lawyers engaged in conducting cases, and the Supreme Court as a vital installation is imperative.
The notification noted that directives had previously been issued requiring relevant individuals to carry their respective identity cards upon entering to ensure security.
Recently, however, it has been observed that “unexpected persons” have been entering the Supreme Court area at night, which is disturbing the security of the court premises.
Under these circumstances, everyone concerned has been requested to carry their identity card when entering the court premises between 11pm and 6am to ensure overall security.
The notification added that if anyone enters the Supreme Court area during those hours for emergency needs, they must produce their National Identity Card (NID) or official identity card upon demand by security officers on duty or law enforcement personnel.
